Initially slated for 8-9 September, the PKL Season 10 Player Auction was pushed back at the request of the Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India, allowing the Indian kabaddi team to focus on their preparations for the Asian Games.
Mr. Anupam Goswami, League Commissioner of the Pro Kabaddi League, expressed enthusiasm about the revised dates, stating, “We are delighted to announce that the Pro Kabaddi League Season 10 Player Auction will now be held immediately after the Asian Games. We are certain that there will be very strong fan excitement and interest in a blockbuster Player Auction, where several star performers from the Asian Games will attract competitive bidding from the PKL teams.”

1. Increased Player Purse: The player purse for Season 10 has seen a boost, rising from INR 4.4 crore to INR 5 crore. This increase reflects the growing significance of Kabaddi on the global stage and emphasizes the league’s commitment to recognizing and rewarding exceptional talent.
2. Player Categories: The players, both domestic and overseas, will be categorized into four groups – A, B, C, and D. Within each category, players will be further classified as ‘All-Rounders,’ ‘Defenders,’ and ‘Raiders.’ The base prices for the categories are: Category A – INR 30 Lakh, Category B – INR 20 Lakh, Category C – INR 13 Lakh, Category D – INR 9 Lakh.
3. Player Pool: The Season 10 Player Pool is anticipated to be robust, comprising 500+ players, including the addition of 24 players from the two finalist teams of the Khelo India University Games 2023.
4. Franchise Building: Prior to the auction, PKL teams have already initiated the squad-building process under the League Player Policy. The retention process, carried out in August 2023, saw 84 players being retained across three categories – Elite Retained Players (ERP), Retained Young Players (RYP), and Existing New Young Players (ENYP).
5. Star Players in the Mix: Notable players like Pawan Sehrawat, Vikash Kandola, and Fazel Atrachali, who were not retained, are set to go under the hammer at the Season 10 Player Auction. This promises an intense bidding war for these star performers.
